The most serious cases are dealt with at the Crown Court

Some cases are sent to the Crown Court and some defendants can choose to have their case heard there and some are committed from the Magistrates Court for sentence.

The Crown Court also deals with appeals (against sentence and conviction) from the Magistrates Court. Facing proceedings at the Crown Court can be challenging and daunting. It is essential that you are surrounded by an experienced legal team who leave no stone un-turned.

We instruct both experienced in-house advocates and leading barristers, tailoring representation to the needs of you and your case. The Crown Court department is experienced in dealing with the most grave, complex and sensitive cases such as murder, robbery, high value fraud and serious sexual offences.

We also have considerable experience in appellant work at the Court of Appeal. We can help you obtain Legal Aid and the higher threshold in the Crown Court means more people are eligible. Legal Aid may be granted with a contribution which will be refunded in full, or in part, if acquitted. If you are ineligible for Legal Aid we can assist with clear and transparent fees.
